​​CHAPPS Physio will provide an in depth assessment of your animal to identify any areas of dysfunction. This will include:

​

  • Detailed history taking from the owner and vet

  • Gait and movement analysis

  • Palpation assessment including joint and soft tissue

  • Range of movement assessment

  • Strength assessment

  • Neurological assessment (if indicated)
     

Following this, treatment will be individualised based on the assessment findings. A risk assessment will also be carried out prior to seeing your animal.

  • Following diagnosis of a medical condition 

  • Muscle asymmetries or imbalances

  • Dysfunction in posture including head tilting or “tucked up”

  • Dysfunction in movement including stiffness or lameness

  • Exercise therapy including core strengthening, limb and pelvic stability and home exercise programmes

  • Neuromuscular rehabilitation including balance work and muscle activation 

  • Functional rehabilitation including stair and stepping work 

  • Performance focused rehabilitation 

  • Electrotherapy including laser, Hofmag (PEMF) and muscle stimulation

  • Kinesio taping 

  • Education and advice for management and home set up

 

All treatment programmes will be tailored to the individual animal and may include a variety of the above treatments. We regularly speak to your team of vets, hydrotherapists or behavioural specialists to ensure a multidisciplinary approach is adopted in order to optimise outcomes.
